Deep Blue represents more than just a debut; it was my first stake in the ground as a solo artist after years of building with i2i and the End of the Weak collective.

Coming off the momentum of the Sue Me mixtape, I felt it was finally time to carve out a personal niche that reflected my own sound. This was the CD era—a time of pressing physical discs and the humble, hand-to-hand grind that made every connection feel permanent.

While it was my first full solo project, I wasn't alone; the album was shaped by a family of producers like Mad Vex, Jess James Figueroa, DD Pesh, D Burnz, and Reginius. By bringing in EOW regulars like Sinclair, GC, and Zilla, we were able to weave the spirit of our global movement into these ten tracks.

For me, Deep Blue is a snapshot of that transition—staying true to the community that raised me while finally finding the space to speak in my own voice.

Original Released 2006

Peep the rare 2006 footage of me performing "O" from the Deep Blue album live at the Pyramid Club, a pivotal moment from the era of the End of the Weak (EOW) movement in New York City.

The performance showcases a foundational, live-energy rendition of the track, which appears on Deep Blue.

The Collaborative Force

Deep Blue came together in the early 2000s inside The Dojo in DUMBO, Brooklyn—the creative hub of the End of the Weak movement—where I built alongside a tight circle of collaborators who were sharpening their craft in real time.

Those sessions were raw, focused, and community-driven, with artists, vocalists, and producers moving fluidly through the space, shaping records from instinct and experience.

As my first solo LP, Deep Blue reflects that foundation—mixed and engineered by Nonezeo, capturing the texture and urgency of that era.

While the project saw digital distribution in 2015, its origins trace back to original CD pressings from 2006, making it a time capsule of early 2000s underground hip-hop in Brooklyn and a defining moment in my evolution as Prolific Wone.
