PROLIFIC WONE:
Hot Food
Art by: Alice Mizrachi
“Hot Food” is one of the earliest emotional moments on my album In the Red, where I explore love as something that nourishes, restores, and grounds you. The title itself is a metaphor—love as “hot food,” something that feeds you, warms you, and keeps you going when everything else feels uncertain. In the song, I reflect on the clarity and energy that comes from being connected to someone who brings peace into your space, turning everyday moments into something meaningful. There’s a sense of gratitude, admiration, and forward vision in the lyrics, where I’m not just present in the feeling but imagining what it could become. Within In the Red, “Hot Food” represents a moment of balance and elevation—a point where love feels pure, supportive, and real, before the album moves deeper into the complexities and pressures that come with holding onto it.
The cover for “Hot Food” was created by New York artist Alice Mizrachi, whose work centers around human connection, empathy, and the everyday experience of love. When I created the song, I was thinking about love as something that nourishes you—something warm, something that keeps you going—and her visual language naturally aligned with that idea. Alice captures real moments of connection, not staged or exaggerated, and that grounded energy is what made this artwork feel right for the record. The image reflects the same feeling as the music—being present with someone who brings peace, warmth, and balance into your life. It’s not about performance, it’s about feeling. That’s what “Hot Food” is, and that’s what the artwork represents.
